If You Can’t Love This All Goes Away
So for the summer I went back to Lithuania and spent some awesome time there with my friends, going to some festivals and just relaxing after finishing my studies.
First up are the pictures from a small local festival in Lithuania called “Blusų festivalis”. I don’t think I’ve ever been to such a small festival, but it was really nice to see how it can work. There were a lot of local people with families and children, during the day a fair and an antiquities market was happening with some live, not too overwhelming music. In the evening, after a lot of families left, a bigger concert started, which was a lot of fun and we ended up staying until dawn by a bonfire with the musicians. I really liked the feeling there, all the people where really chilled out, you could get vegetarian food and do some crafts or just lie around in the sun sipping beer or cider.
Probably the best part of the summer was a glorious week called Open’er festival (previously Heineken Open’er). I went there last year and couldn’t keep myself from going there again, it’s just always pure bliss listening to my favorite bands all week in the evenings, while spending the hot lazy days by the sea. This year there I heard: Foals, Jack White, The Black Keys, Pearl Jam, Warpaint, Lykke Li, Foster the People, Phoenix, Daughter, Interpol, The Horrors, MGMT.
You can watch a few videos I took in the festival on my facebook, including Jack White performing Seven Nation Army (White Stripes cover) and Pearl Jam + MGMT covering The Who’s Baba O’Riley together. Pearl Jam’s concert was definitely the funniest and most entertaining, love Vedder!
Also in the summer I helped my friend who is a journalist (she’s Gabriele from the picture above!) and took some pictures of a fair in my hometown for National tv’s webpage.
And that’s it for now, have a lot of posts coming soon!
What have you been up to this summer?
