Film diary Autumn / Winter 2019
I’m back with another film diary post, this time from Autumn / Winter 2019. Just before Covid hit and I was expecting a great year ahead and had a lot of plans for my photography and travel. Oh well. ;D Weird to look at these pictures now and realize how I didn’t see any of it coming. I hope you’re doing well as can be with the situation we have, would love to hear from you and how your year has been.
To be honest, this blog post took me ages to complete. I want to make it nicer/more interesting for these diary type posts, so I do layouts and my own writing. And my writing really is not coming out nicely when I’m using a tablet, so I re-do it many times. ;D But I do it this way to also have a nice way to look back to the memories. It’s both a diary and a photo album instead of a real thing.
One thing that bothers me in the 35mm film diary from Autumn and Winter times is that I usually don’t have many nice/cute pictures to show. Most of them are taken when it’s dark or when I’m out with friends and it’s not as pretty or interesting to look at for other people other than myself. So I think when we’re out of the Covid times I’ll take a lot more effort to take more daily pictures when it’s not dark yet. (If anyone knows me, I go to bed really late at night and wake up late too, so I don’t see much daylight during winter months..)
Bloglovin issues
Would be really good to hear what you think in the comments below! Especially as my Bloglovin is broken now and hasn’t been showing my posts since September. Countless reports, asking for help and they still haven’t responded.. If you still follow my posts in some way, would be good to know, as it’s very disheartening. Or if you have any advice what else I can do/ what other platform to use.
My other 35mm film diary posts can be found on my blog. And please follow me on instagram @ailera if you don’t already for more consistent new work.
New Year party
I always have a lot of expectations for the New Year parties, and it almost never works out really well. But looking at these pictures I know we actually did have a lot of fun out in a random outside bar. It had some interesting decorations which I’m glad we used and loud music. We can take a bit of cold if we have that! Again, funny how we went into the new year expecting great things. ;D
If there’s one thing I probably miss THE MOST after this terrible year is going to gigs and festivals. Anyone else feels that way? Just makes me want to weep to remember it. Pretty much my reason to live not going to lie… My last concert before Covid was hearing White Lies in Brixton, it was such a good gig…
You might not know this about me, but I play a lot of video games, that’s one of my favorite things to do in my free time. (Which is not a thing really being a freelancer, so I usually do it at night before I go to sleep.) Thought this huge Borderlands wall looked cool.
One of my best friends ever, Maria, has now moved back to Spain when the Covid chaos started happening, who I’m going to miss the most.. It’s really tough when most of my best friends already all lived in other countries. But good to look back at the good times and nights out we had.
So many beautiful shots as always! I’ve moved from Bloglovin’ to Inoreader recently, it use to be such a good platform but sadly there have just been no updates.

Hi Jess,
Thank you soooo much for your comment, means a lot! Especially as blogging is not the same as it used to be and people don’t leave comments anymore. But I still love doing it and wouldn’t want to stop.
I’ll look into Inoreader as Bloglovin has just really been messing about… I liked it though as I felt it was a lot more visually appealing compared to more text focused readers (as a photography blog). Would you say Inoreader still shows the picture posts nicely or links to be seen on the blog properly?
Btw I really like your blog design and concept, nice idea!
