Fashion Editorial for Dreamingless Magazine
Lately I haven’t been doing full on fashion editorials with a team, a story and many looks. That’s my favorite thing to shoot – stories, but it includes sooo much planning. And have been a bit swamped with other things, I didn’t invest enough time. I guess too scared of disappointment and smaller tests is a safer and quicker way to practice and try things out. With editorials, it’s more people and things involved, things can so easily go wrong. (And something usually does ;D). But this is one fashion editorial for Dreamingless magazine that I’ve done lately.
We shot with a lovely team in Hampstead Heath. I wanted to do a shoot in fields with a similar type of styling for a while – love cottage core/dreamy style. And as always I love introducing a darker twist/ something more mysterious towards the end of the story.
As I mentioned things go wrong with editorials and it certainly didn’t go as planned here either. I initially was supposed to shoot this with a Premier agency model, and then the day before the shoot I found out that she’s stuck in Brazil because of Covid and her flights were cancelled. Thankfully I was already speaking to Cheyenne that you see in this post about doing a shoot. I was so glad and relieved when she was free to shoot this so last minute!
As well as that, the worst part of me loving to shoot in nature is of course the London weather. As we were preparing for the shoot, it was lovely and sunny, which was what I wanted ideally. And as soon as we we started shooting it became overcast and then while shooting the last two outfits it started to rain as well, so we did those in like 10 minutes. I think what we got is really good considering!
As always super curious which look or image is your favorite and if you have your own stories of shoots going wrong, let me know below in the comments!
