35mm film portraits – Vitoria, Drew
I have some more 35mm film portraits from some of the tests I’ve shared. In this blog post there will be some from two test shoots – with Vitoria @ The Squad and Drew @ Base models.
Vitoria @ The Squad model test
On a very cold day in January I had only around an hour or so with a model Vitoria. We shot on some streets in London and then in a park to have a little bit to have some variety. Despite the cold it was a beautiful sunny day, and I loved the chance to work with Vitoria. She has such striking features!
I used my old family’s Pentax MZ 50 for this which is just a very random film camera I’ve not heard anyone else mention (ever). And of course with my favorite film, Portra 400. Most of these were wit her wearing a Free People dress and a leopard coat for warmth (from Bershka I think). All the digital pictures from this shoot with Vitoria @ The Squad are on my blog already as well.
Drew @ Base / Bame models
Another test I took some film pictures on, but haven’t shared yet was with Drew @ Base models. I absolutely love her instagram as she’s a very talented artist and has an amazing aesthetic – @drew____draws. When I saw it that’s when I knew I really want to shoot with her, as her sunny dreamy self portraits really inspired me.
We shot this at my house and were lucky to have a lot of sun to play around with. Love how the film came out, as I wasn’t sure how it would look with the harsh direct light. For the digitals, I softened it a bit with a filter. The digital pictures from this model test are also on my blog here.
Let me know your favorite image or look from the post! And you can follow me on instagram for more updates @ailera.
